Discussion on the FSM- keep it clean/respectfulMay 12, 2012 3:45 pm
You practically insult me but mean no offense? the quote is actually quite pertinent and i thought rather humerous. I have taken no philosophy courses btw, i just employ rationality and logic in to my arguments. So you assert that philosophy would help me in understanding something that you arent even sure about?
i dont think i flip flop around in my position, in fact i think i have been pretty consistent in my views, feel free to point out the contradictions and should they exist and arent being misunderstood- i would have no issue is retracting them or clarifying my point. As for considering creationist positions, i do consider them up to a point- as far as i listen to them, i see how much validity is held in defending such a position and then i decide to research around the topic at which point i come to the conclusion that the aforementioned view was laced with ignorance. Here is the issue with creationist, you project your issues on to me, as do many of your fellow supporters ( and by me i refer to those that take the opposing position). You say that we are blind and dont understand theories, when most creationists cant even understand what a theory in the realm of science is...they still think it means hypothesis which is laughable at best. And most dont have any idea what evolution is, and then state that becuase we cant define abiogenesis, that there must be somehting more, and that you know what it is with out any tangible or valid evidence. Thats simply where we dont see eye to eye, i dont deem your psuedo-science to be valid, as its regularly debunked, you take the position of asserting that the product is correct and go about finding a methodology that would lead to such a product. I on the other hand, prefert to analyse the factors before me and use the scientific method to find the product, i dont know what is true ( as true as can be) until i see enough evidence to support that claim. Creationists believe god is right so they start there and work their ways back. Recently i tried to understand why some evidence or the theory of evolution in your world view is not valid...you know what i got? NOTHING. you say there are no transitional fossils..but there are thousands, so when someone takes that stance what do you think it shows me? simply put, it shows a lack of effort to challenge your own beliefs and it personifies ignorance. thats my issue with most things when it comes to creationism- if it was valid, IT WOULD BE ACCEPTED IN ACADEMIA, it would not get thrown out of courts as BS, the world can not hide such truth but the simple fact of the matter is- its just not valid at this point, we have no evidence or little evidence to assert that creationism is valid in any form. The bible is riddled with hilarious propositions, so i dont think you understand why we find such stances hilarious yet depressing at times. As mano said- sometimes i cant even fathom how it is that you think the way you do, or why poor evidence is a-ok, its all pretty surreal at times. 2k |
