Prayers

April 14, 2012 12:03 pm

"Blessed is he that considers the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble."
Psalm 41:1

There are people who really needed help, and we have the power to make a difference. Perhaps we can't solve the world's problems, but we could help someone with our prayers and the sharing of kind words and our  resources as God puts these people on our hearts. Open our eyes to the less fortunate and give as much as we can--time, assistance, companionship, kind words and deeds, encouragement, and of course, prayers.

Father, am I doing all I can? In my times of need, I cry out for someone to help me. Make me sensitive to others as they cry out. All glory is Yours, Almighty God, as we learn to serve You and share Your love with others.  Amen.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just watched a great Christian movie called "The Grace Card."  Very moving; I would recommend this especially with everything going on in our world, this movie puts the truth where it really is--in God's hands!

"I promise to pray for you every day, to ask for your forgiveness and hope you accept mine, and be your friend forever."  What if we all lived like that?  Amazing grace indeed!

Be God's!

Prayers

April 15, 2012 1:14 pm

"As the deer panteth after the water, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
Psalm 42:1

The male deer is a single-minded creature. Once its sights are set on its goal, nothing can dissuade it. Such single-mindedness is what the Lord desires of His children. The Lord loves to see real commitment that changes lives. To live for the Lord means to give oneself to Him, body, mind, and spirit. As the deer pursues the cooling brook with all that it has, so must we pursue our Lord.

You are my goal, Lord. Keep my eyes focused on You. Make sure that I don't turn away. I can have no greater prize in sight, Father, than to spend eternity with You. Amen.

Prayers

April 16, 2012 12:56 pm

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord.
Isaiah 55:8

Prayer honors God as sovereign and moves Him to action. Compassion for the world redeemed by Christ will move us, the church, to pray.  Pray for the persecuted Christians around the world, for all those suffering unjustly, for the sick and the poor, for those we would not normally think of praying for.  Let God's thoughts become our thoughts so we are led to pray for those we may overlook, judge, or just resist praying for.  Let God open our eyes to the world around us and show us that His heart encompasses all, and Christ died for all.  Are we praying for all of the world?  Let the Lord expand your vision so it becomes more like His vision.

Lord, I kneel in prayer to honor You, as Your servant, recognizing You are sovereign - please use me to touch the lost and hurting today. Place on my heart those You would have me pray for and reach out to in Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayers

April 16, 2012 1:05 pm

After I made my post here, I went to another site and was immediately struck by this story:  Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills, on his third tour in Afghanistan, stepped on an IED — improvised explosive device — while on patrol last week, and lost all four limbs. Today, after undergoing another surgery in Germany, support and prayers are pouring in from around the world for the 25-year-old native of Vassar, Michigan.

Please add Travis Mills to your prayers.  He is facing a challenge unlike what few others have known--surviving after losing both arms and legs.  May our Lord give wisdom to the doctors to find ways to use prosthetics to replace the limbs lost.  May God touch Travis so as to lift his courage, spirit, hope, strength, and healing.  May Travis be filled with the comfort of our Lord and the support of others worldwide.  Let the love of Jesus shine a light of hope upon the path ahead for this young man and we will give God all the glory and praise, Amen

Prayers

April 18, 2012 10:29 am

Praise:  Sometimes we really forget how blessed we are so I give thanks and praise to our heavenly father for those blessings and his grace and love.

Prayer:  Lifting all the requests on this thread up in prayer for those that need healing, for all of us that need wisdom, for those that need rest.  I also ask for strength not to judge others and for reminders to be compassionate whenever I can.  I especially give thanks for this thread and pray that reaches others as part of Gods plan.

Amen

Have a great day everyone!

Prayers

April 19, 2012 10:43 am

Praise:  I have to admit I have been a little put out by CBS's changes to the website particularly getting rid of the reputation system so that threads are now listed by most recent posts.  I honestly didn't deel like it was fair but then I realized that now by posting on the prayer thread it has a chance to hit the top spot and find someone new.  I count that as a praise in that hopefully new people can find the thread and leave their own praises and prayer request.

Prayer:  To all the prayer requests that have been mention and for those needs that don't yet have a voice I lift them up to God.  May he watch over all of us giving us the guidence and direction that we need to have a positive impact on those around us and the strength, wisdom and humility to do his will.  Watch over all that read and post on this thread and keep them safe as they go about their daily lives.

Amen

Prayers

April 19, 2012 4:20 pm

Please keep Coach Pat Summitt in prayer along with all who suffer from dementia and Alzheimer's disease.  May our Lord be merciful and give strength to their families and caregivers as well.

We take Mom to the vascular surgeon on Monday to get information on the bypass surgery so she can make up her mind.  Father, give us wisdom and guidance as You lead her to the right plan of action.

Our neighbor, Jake, has cancer and is facing extensive chemo and radiation treatment, which may not be successful according to his doctors.  His wife. Lois, has been a blessing to us.  Please keep this elderly couple in your prayers as well.

Be God's!

Prayers

April 20, 2012 11:38 am

Good morning all! Prayers for everyone and everything we are going through.

I have a prayer request today. Please pray for my wife Paula. She just some test results back and the doctor told her that he was 90% sure she has MS. We have to go to a lumbar puncture test to know for sure. I am going to pray for my hearts desire that if she does have MS that God will bring healing BEFORE the lumbar test so we can give him praise and glory at the doctors office. If they do find that she has MS at this time we will continue to believe in healing from the King of Kings and praise him for all that he does.

Thanks everyone!

Prayers

April 20, 2012 12:38 pm

Good morning all and God bless you.  I pray for all here daily and appreciate your prayers as well.

Gary, I will certainly keep Paula in my prayers.  I've been through all that myself and understand what it is like to go through the testing and live with the ressults.

Father, watch over all on this thread as You do each and every day.  Keep us strong in our faith to endure what is set before us. Keep us steady in Your word so it is indeed a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths to know which way to go as we walk with You each day.  Give us strength to discern and resist the wiles of the enemy who would have us distracted from serving You.  Be our  comfort and our shield and set our feet upon the rock firmly.  We pray for our brothers and sisters aroung the world who endure far more than we can know.  We pray for Your mercy and grace upon all Your children.  Give us the wisdom and compassion to reach out to a hurting world and lift Your name in praise in Jesus' name, Amen
