How to play:

It's simple, really. Look at the sports-related pictures above, and give us your funniest caption for any or all of them. You can write as many captions for each as you would like.

The challenge runs daily, Monday-Thursday. Each day's competition will usually be posted by noon ET, and will usually end around 11 p.m. ET. On Monday and Wednesday, Community member ktopp24 will be the judge. On Tuesday and Thursday, I'll run the show. If one of the judges decide that your caption is the funniest or most clever submitted for that picture, it will be declared a winner.

Winning captions will be announced when that day's challenge ends. There will be one winner for each picture, and also one winner for the person who can string together the 5 best captions all with the same theme.

You will be awarded one point for each winning caption that you post. You will see a running tally on the scoreboard, which will be posted at the beginning and end of each day. At the end of each month a champion is declared, and we shower that user in praise and adulation! We add his screenname to the Wall-O-Fame, and then we start everyone's score back at zero.

Photo Caption Challenge: Star Wars

#1 - River_Rat

John in the orange, was a legend amongst the Star Wars geeks, he has actually seen a naked woman before and was often stopped to ask what it was like.

** JOE POINT **

"I love it here, R2! It's way better that those stupid Star Trek conventions where people were always judging me. I mean, seriously. What's so wrong about Spock with a moustache?! I had the right haircut!"

#2 - D2Moo

When you see Ricky Williams' family, it becomes quickly understood why the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

#3 - BuccinGator

"No, no, no, honey.  The diagram shows fastener G going there, not THERE!!!  That's where one of the 3" screws goes."
"Damnit, woman.  I told you to leave me alone when I was assembling things!!!"

#4 - bluenosecanuck

In a little town not far from Kalamazzo MI, there is a theme park that Political Correctness forgot.  Not only can you enjoy the Titanic slide, but you can also play whack-a-baby-seal, go whale spearing, and ride the Plaxico Burress boat up the river.

#5 - bluenosecanuck

Even without the smell of gasoline or the roar of the engines, you just knew you were looking at a NASCAR event.

Theme - River_Rat

On a Nerd Scale Its A.........

1. 9.5 easy.  With these outfits in your closet, only a guy with every rank of star fleet command in his would be more pathetic.

2. Only about a 3.  The Wake and Bake crew has nearly everthing they need for the morning ritual.  A Jamacian with connections, a friend with a light, and short term memory loss that a razor is required to finish the morning shave.

3. A solid 9.  If your get up includes pop rivets and an aluminum cod piece you are a geek.  And from the looks of the two female "pit crew" members, an ugly geek at that.

4. Only about a 4, but on the What The Heck scale, its off the charts.  What's next for the creator?  Opening a restraunt in Haiti selling Jello Jigglers?

5. A 5 overall.  But the scale is skewed greatly by the overly butch Ellen fan thinking that the XXL shirt she is wearing is any kind of sneak preview of the goods that lie beneath.

Well now, we can't let Buc sneak in again with the only theme. Wink

5. The fans of the 4th of July are a little dissapointed at the turn out of their section in the "What's your Favorite Holiday" contest, being soundly beaten by the legions wearing Santa outfits.  They didn't count on many of their number being split with the folks at Saint Patricks Day.

1.  Luke has a heated discussion when the owner of the robot repair shop tries to tell him R2's central CPU is no longer under warranty.  Fortunately his buddy in brown knows a dude who fixes robots on the side and will do it quicker and cheaper.

2.  When you see Ricky Williams' family, it becomes quickly understood why the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

3.  Little Wendy begins to get ticked off that dad has been working since Christmas putting together that life size Star Wars robot.  That's Christmas of 2005 for those who don't know Wendy's dad very well.

4.  When you see the big inflatable Titanic, it means only one thing; Everyones fantasy teams are sinking fast like a rock once again.

5.  When Jimmy Buffet sang "The Weather's Here, Wish you Were Beautiful" he wasn't kidding was he.
